my almost famous bookshelf
Many of you have contacted me since discovering I, EMMA FREKE in this month’s Scholastic Book Club Flyer!

I decided it made more sense to send a photo of the bookshelf by my desk at my cottage in Maine since I do most of my writing here:
While I rarely actually sit at my desk in the loft where this little bookshelf is located – opting for the porch in the summer and and the couch by the fireplace in the winter – it’s filled with many of my favorite books.
Scholastic will also sponsor a “Skype-visit-with-the-author” contest . . .

I had to write a description of the bookshelf for the Bookbox blog, but I didn’t mention one of my favorite things shown is the stack (above the crayons) of old Nat’l Geographics from the 1920′s ~ they’re wonderful.
Congratulations – the bookshelf is very warm and comfortable looking.
